Shooting 3d targets is a blast when you are able to go out and shoot at your leisure. I found myself in Milan Michigan one afternoon at a place I have been to many times called Adams Archery. I recently had some arrows refletched and I put a new bow sight on my bow and just got it sighted in for my 20 yard pin, and thought I would take it up to Adams Archery and get my 30 yard pin sighted in. I left a dozen arrows with them to refletch and they told me they would have them done in couple of days. Well I went back to pick up my arrows I decided to shoot the 3d range in the back woods where they have set up some amazing targets.
Dick Adams opened the shop in 1979 late in the year around September. Diana his daughter (who runs the
place now) was telling me that Dick just had a card table out for the archers to register and pay. Dick ran the place ( and I mean ran the place, he fixed the targets, cleared the path, put in the back drops, and everything else that goes with running a business for about 10 years) until Diana took an interest in archery. She now pretty much runs the place and they have added to the pro shop an indoor range that they built in 2003. In addition to the 30 outdoor targets, they also have an indoor 3d range that consists of 15 targets with distances up 35 yards that you shoot at in 2 rounds.
I believe they now have 4 or 5 raised platforms in the woods that are all solid as can be and are very comfortable to shoot from. Adams has a complete pro-shop and the helpful staff to make it run smoothly. They sell a wide variety of Bows including Mathews and Hoyt as well as many other brands. Adams Archery has a world class facility with a great staff that can handle any bow hunting or target shooting issues. They also have shooting clinic put on for the young archers as well as tournaments for the best in the area as well the state and country.
It was really nice to be out side and the weather was great. I love the way they set up the targets in almost a natural setting. There were targets that you couldn’t even see the whole target just the kill zone of the animal you were shooting at. All in all it was a perfect day for a stroll in the woods.
