Mechanical Broadheads for Big Game

A visitor posed this question that I thought I would post.

Are mechanical broadheads good for big game like elk and moose?

Re: Mechanical Broadheads for Big Game

The ones I use and have tested are the 100 grain 3 blade Sonoran's.  These have no problems going through a sheet of 3/4" plywood at 90 yards and stop 6 to 8 inches short of the fletching.  I have a youtube video on that particular shot.  And when I want a larger hole, I use the 125 grain 2 blade Swhacker.  I presently have to bow set ups, the first being a 84# APA Black Mamba 7.5 and a 100# Athens Archery Accomplice 32.  Arrows used are Easton Dangerous Game Full Metal Jackets.  These mechanical broadheads work, period !!
