In order to provide bow hunters information on our sport of bowhunting we feel it is important to keep bowhunters abreast of regulatory and legislative issues that affect our sport. This information is provided without comment, to provide that info.

Hunt raffle deadline is Sunday
OLYMPIA* Hunters are reminded they have until Sunday (Aug. 4) to purchase raffle
tickets for chances to participate in special-permit big game hunts this fall.
Winning tickets will be selected by computer and winners will be notified by
August 15. One winner will be chosen for each of the following hunts* any
buck deer, eastside bull elk, westside bull elk, moose, ram bighorn sheep, and
mountain goat.
The winner of the deer hunt can hunt between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31 in any open
game management unit, except Private Lands Wildlife Management areas and Game
Management units 157, 418, 485 and 522. Winners of the elk hunts can hunt
between Sept.1 and Dec. 31 in any open unit, except Private Lands Wildlife
Management areas and Game Management units 157, 162, 166, 418, 485 and 522.
In addition, deer and elk raffle permit winners may purchase a second tag and
can hunt in a general or permit season with appropriate equipment and licenses.
The winner of the moose hunt will be allowed to hunt between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30
in any unit open to moose hunting. The winner of the bighorn sheep hunt
will be allowed to hunt between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31 in any open sheep unit.
The winner of the mountain goat hunt will be allowed to hunt between Sept. 15
and Oct. 31 in the four goat units open to raffle and auction hunters.
Raffle tickets are $5 each and $10 for sheep, and may be purchased at http://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov
on the Internet, toll-free by telephone at 1-866-246-9456 or at license vendors
statewide.
