Turkey Shot Placement

Question:

Where is the best shot placement for bow hunting Turkey?

Answer:

Great question.  Turkey hunting with bow is tough.  Shot placement is very important, the vital zone of a turkey is only about the size of a large orange or a softball.

The easyist explanations are for a full frontal or full rear shot while the Tom is in full strut.  From the front, place your shot at the base of the beard.  From behind place your shot at the base of the fan.

A broadside shot is a little more difficult to explain.  Aim for the wing butt, at the tip of what looks a little like football set of feathers.
